Sale of Gear Street building provides opportunity to assess customer needs and preferences to build towards the future.

November 10, 2020, Galena, IL – With the pending sale of Illinois Bank & Trust’s (IB&T) bank property at 971 Gear Street to the Galena Center for the Arts (The Center), IB&T has the opportunity to re-assess and re-imagine banking experiences in Galena while reinforcing our commitment to the community.

“We are pleased and excited that our beautiful property will be of valuable service, bringing increased exposure, access and visibility for the arts in our community,” said Joe Mattingley, Market President of Illinois Bank & Trust.  “When this opportunity presented itself, we knew it not only made sense for our two organizations, but was truly right and in the best interest of the Galena community.”

“We are privileged to be serving the Galena community now and for over the past 45 years and we look forward to finding our new Galena home,” said Mattingley.

IB&T will remain as a tenant through 2021 and will continue to serve customers at the Gear and Main Street branch locations, as well as online and with ATMs in the community.
